The Ranger 12 is great for the southern diver, or shallow water great lakes diver. Light weight is always helpful when traveling. Using the MR-12 first stage means simple and reliable performance and easy to service. The Ranger is an easy breathing first stage, with a big purge button for easy clearing. The Rebel octopus is a good sturdy octopus that will provide your buddy with air in a time of need. The  Mares Mission 3 gauge set is a great set of gauges with easy to read numbers all around. It also shows some great hook points to keep it hooked to your BCD and out of the sand so it won't get scratched up.
